Tony and Star’s Bright Gypsy Festival Wedding

After two years of planning and a new addition to the family Tony and Star finally tied the knot in May and Verdigris were lucky enough to do the styling and design. Working closely with the extremely talented Karen Morgan at Passion for Flowers to bring the colours of a Mexican Fiesta to their relaxed celebrations.

The Ceremony took place by a in a small copse of woods by a lake in the grounds of Hogarths Hotel in Solihull, Birmingham. We created hundreds of coloured hearts to line the walk to the celebration which were also used in the little jars of flowers. A ribbon canopy with floral centre and ribbon arch – later dressed with flowers brought the theme of the day into the gardens.

“Many thanks for the weekend the place looked incredible, we actually cried when we pulled up at the field!” Tony Griffin

The reception, held at Alcott Weddings, a field for hire set next to a fishing lake just a short drive from Hogarths. Deckerdence’s double decker bus marquee was booked to transform the field into a quirky pop up venue. Complete with a black and white checked dance floor, spot lights and festoon that twinkled across the lake.

We brought in white leather Chesterfield Sofa’s, a ribbon and fairy light ceiling canopy, coloured metal lanterns, bale covers and palm trees as well as many other little touches to transform the site and bring the designs to life.

As we arrived on Saturday morning to add the final touches to our work I was absolutely wowed by the stunning cake supplied by ‘The Sugared Rose’, although sketches had been provided the final article was far beyond my wildest imaginings!

An amazing weekend and incredible team effort, thanks to all involved x
